Daily Prayer – Proverbs 27:2
Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.
Daily Prayer
Lord God, forgive us for our constant striving to be seen, heard and lifted up by people. It is not in man which our hearts long. It is You. We have been deceived into thinking our satisfaction and success rests in recognition of people, but that is fleeting and empty.
Our souls long for the living God, the One Who made us, redeemed us and pursues a loving relationship with us. Thank You Lord, for not giving up on us. You patiently pursue us, even as we follow after other gods. Have mercy on us, Oh Lord. Have mercy.
Father, we pray for revelation so we can see the truth, so we can recognize the lies of the enemy and the temptation that ensnares us. We can be free as we deliver ourselves out of the trap of pride and vainglory and instead choose a humble submission to You and Your ways. That is when we will see Your glory.
Lord, we choose to fear the Lord instead of fearing people. We choose to serve the living God and not the vanity of humanity. We lift up our hands in holy submission, Father. We choose You. How can we not, as we remember Your Son, Jesus and the price You paid for us.
Thank You Father, for penetrating the stronghold of lies with Your truth. You are gentle, yet powerful. Thank You, Lord Jesus for rescuing us, for uniting all things to Yourself. (Ephesians 1:7-10)
We are at Your Mercy, and there is no better place to be. Thank You, Lord. We praise the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. Amen and amen.
Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips. Proverbs 27:2
