For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility
Daily Prayer
Lord, please forgive us for trying to take Your place in our sons’ and daughters’ lives. We work to give, please and provide for them, but it is You who bled and died for them. We have been blinded to the truth of our own sin, which prohibits an abundant life, rich in relationship with You and with others. Please help us as we repent and ask for Your mercy.
Forgive us for judging the way You work in our lives, the way You choose to answer or not answer our prayers. Unknowingly, we have agreed with the devil in judging You and how You rule in our lives, for complaining, being resentful and holding a grudge against You because of the things you have allowed to happen. We are not the judge. You are. Again, we repent and ask for Your mercy in its fullness.
Bring joy and laughter again in place of the pain. You give beauty for ashes, strength for fear, gladness for mourning and peace for despair. Thank You for Jesus Christ, Your Son and our Savior. Amen.
