Daily Prayer – Proverbs 17:17

A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.

Daily Prayer

Lord, today we want to stop a moment simply to thank You for our family and our friends. Each of them has a unique story of their own and we thank You for loving us through them, in their way. You built us for community.

There are times we need to be the friend offering love and support, and there are times when we need to receive the love and support from those You have placed in our lives. Forgive us for trying to control our witness to those who may not know You like we do. We simply need to be truthful and let Your love flow however it will.

In truth is freedom, for that is where You are. We don’t have to put on a brave face all the time, trying to be a good witness for You. You can comfort, love and encourage us through the weak and the strong. We thank You for that, and we thank You for gathering us together in Christ. We bless Your Holy Name, Lord. In Jesus’ Name we pray, amen.
