Daily Prayer – Joshua 24:15
But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Daily Prayer
Dear Lord God of Heaven, forgive us of our iniquity and heal our land. We ask on behalf of our forefathers and our fathers, our sons and their sons, Lord. You know. You see.
All that the Father has given to the Son is yours.
Thank You, Lord. Then in Jesus’ Holy Name we ask for mercy in our hearts, so that we can love one another the way You love us. We ask you to remove the noise, chaos and confusion of reproach, sin and hostility and replace it with lovingkindness that comes from the Father’s heart and from the cross where Jesus held us with arms wide open in His loving embrace.
Father, we align ourselves with You. We align the allegiance of our hearts with Your heart, where there is mercy unending in love higher and deeper and wider than we can even imagine. We present ourselves to You and join You in that loving embrace, Lord–the holy and welcoming embrace of our Father. We are One in You.
Help us to see, hear and love like You, Lord; to walk not in the flesh but in the Spirit where You dwell. You are able to take our self-protective stance and dissolve our stubbornness and rebellion into mercy, acceptance and forgiveness so that we are one with You and with one another.
Thank You for hearing our cries and for answering in ways beyond our human ways and understanding. We trust You. We join with You and we choose to serve You and not ourselves any longer. You alone are God. We forsake all other gods and choose to follow You, Lord. You are worthy. Blessed be Your Name forever and ever. Amen.
And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
