Lord God, as we enter into the holiday season help us to take a moment to consider John 3:16.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
We know Your Presence is among us even now and as we decorate and fill our homes with things of the holidays, may we do so with Your glory in mind. We have none of our own. You are the bright and morning star. It is Your light and Presence that gives us new life, and it is Your Spirit that fills our house with warmth and the feeling of home.
The Christmas spirit is Your agape love which caused You to give Your only Son to mankind, so that we could be saved and reconciled back to our Father. It is Your generous Spirit that fills the holiday season, and not anything that we give, or do.
We submit to Your ways, Your love and Your Holy Spirit so that all the beauty and glory goes where it belongs, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And then as we receive the Spirit of Your righteousness, its beauty is reflected back upon us and we can rejoice in Your Presence together.
May broken hearts and homes be healed and made whole this Christmas, Lord . Restore us, Father. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen and amen.
