The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Daily Prayer
Oh Lord, please forgive us of our pride–that fleshly arm that was developed from our past and carried into our future. We didn’t know it, but we were imprisoning ourselves to man because we took delight in the praises of men instead of God.
Even from our childhood, Lord, we took delight in our accolades, resting in the approval of people because of them. That was a lie. There is no rest in men. There is only rest in You, our Heavenly Father.
We didn’t know how wicked our heart was, Lord. We repent of the false glory from pride and making men our idols. You alone are God. We know that now. Thank You for shining Light upon the truth in our hearts, so that we can repent of it and come back to You.
You are the way, the truth and the light….and only You. Thank You, Father, for healing our hearts from wickedness and deceit. It is by Your mercy we are saved, now and forever. Amen.
