We love him, because he first loved us.
Daily Prayer
Father God, help us to feel. Deliver us from deadness and disinterest–the callousness that swirls around us like a lion seeking to devour. Thank You for raising our head above our enemies, so that we understand it is the devil’s tactics and schemes that try and steal the love and joy from us. Well, no more.
We stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has set us free, so that we will not be tangled up again in a yoke of bondage (Galatians 5:1). Deadness and disinterest is bondage, and we don’t have to succumb to that power in the air. Deliver us from it, oh Lord.
You came to save us from the enemy and his power. You came to give us abundant life. We choose life, Lord. We choose You. You alone are our God. You alone are our King. We bow to You alone. Our hearts surrender to You. We trust You. We adore You.
Thank You for coming to save us from our sins. We can love because You first loved us. Amen and amen.
