Daily Prayer – 1 John 3:21

Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.

Daily Prayer

Dear Lord, help us to recognize the intent of our heart when we are forging ahead with something with the thought that “we can do it”. We think we’re doing the right thing and maybe we are, but it is the intention of our heart that You see and hear that we have become blind to. It is so subtle that we don’t realize we are forging ahead without Your authority.

We can do nothing apart from you. The trouble is we don’t know we’re doing it without you. Please have mercy on us and help us discern the intent of our heart before we move forward with a task or decision. As children of God, we want to do all things under the authority of Your great name.

With our full armor on, we can joyfully expect You to act on our behalf, when before we were standing in Your way. We surrender our hearts and the work of our hands to You, Lord. We surrender to Your leadership in all things.

Now we can come confidently to Your throne of grace and expect mercy to help us in our time of need. (Hebrews 4:16) Thank you, Father for it is in Christ’s name we pray. Amen.
