Daily Prayer – 1 Corinthians 11:27-28

Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord. 28 Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup.

Daily Prayer

Lord Jesus, may we prepare our food as an offering to You, and not to receive approval or accolades from men. May we not eat in an unworthy manner, but help us to understand that we are partaking of the holiness of the body and blood of Jesus Christ and to remember His sacrifice for us.

Help us to live by the truth of Your Word. You tell us in 1 Corinthians 11:29-30 why many of us are weak and ill and why many of us die. Help us, Lord to examine ourselves so that we will not eat or drink judgement upon ourselves.

Cleanse our hearts, so that we will see the truth and surrender wrong motives and intentions. Have mercy on us, Lord. Help us to live to glorify You in all we do. Blessed be Your Name forever and ever, for You alone are worthy. Amen and amen.

Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord. 28 Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. 30 That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died. 1 Corinthians 11:27-30
