…of Psalm 36:8 says, “…and you give them drink from the river of your delights.”
There is a wonderful Hebrew meaning from the word “delights,” which is: to live voluptuously.
Doesn’t that sound wonderful? To live voluptuously is to have more than enough of everything, all the time—material things and immaterial, but not so we can hoard them for ourselves, but so we can enjoy them with others.
Have you ever been blessed so greatly by God that the first thing you wanted to do is share your blessing with someone else? It’s so much more satisfying when we can share our gifts, and that’s precisely what He desires—for us to delight in sharing or giving, just like He does.
Oh, that we would recognize the Spirit of God living within us! Take joy when you feel an intense longing to bless someone, when you feel true compassion for someone who is ill or hurting, or when you sincerely desire to share the good gifts that God has given you, for that is the righteousness of God in you.
Hallelujah! He is all around us.
Within You
Jesus said in Luke 17:21, “…the kingdom of God is within you.”
And so it is. When we come to the house of God and feast upon the abundance at His table, we are filled up so we can give others a drink from the river of His delights.
When we feast upon Him, the Kingdom of God is within us. And it is poured out from us.
Let’s keep going back to His table at His house to fill up. Feast upon His Word. Study and meditate upon it, for He is the Word. (John 1:1) Drink Him in, and pour Him out into the lives of others who so desperately need Him.
When the needy and afflicted are satisfied, then so is He.
Study the Bible verse of Psalm 36:8, feast upon the abundance of the house of God, and bless others.
