…in Hebrew means: a session or company of persons in close deliberation; intimacy, consultation. In Webster’s dictionary “secret” means: kept from the knowledge of others; beyond general understanding; mysterious.

What an amazing thing to know that God reveals secrets of the mysterious to us in an intimate friendship with Him, which is hidden from those who don’t fear Him. That is secret counsel of the Lord—what a privilege!

This is precisely the reason I am able to write the Bible Commentaries for this website. I do not have a formal education in theology. God put me in a place where I am able to invest a great deal of time being still before Him, which results in lengthy study of the scriptures–the Bible–and counsel with God.

What an exciting adventure it is to enjoy a close and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The revelation of the mysteries of God is light in a dark world.

It is life in a sea of death.

It is hope, living in a fallen world.

It is peace among all the chaos.

It is grace and rest in the midst of work.

It is secret counsel with my closest and most intimate Friend, the Lord of Heaven. Nothing in this world can compare to an intimate fellowship with God.

Covenant and Promise of Blessing

The last part of Psalm 25:14 is a beautiful statement, “He will make them know His covenant.” The word “covenant” is defined as: an agreement, compact; God’s promise of blessing to be fulfilled on the performance of a condition, as of obedience.

If you look at the definition of “covenant” above, it reveals that as believers of Christ, we have access to the promise of blessing because Christ already performed the condition, or obedience of all the commandments from the Old Testament.

Because He fulfilled the law, Jesus Christ Himself is the covenant, the New Testament, the promise of blessing. All we have to do is simply receive Him.

Jesus is not only God’s fulfillment of the law, He is the fulfillment of our lives—our best and most intimate Friend.

There is no greater friendship on earth than the satisfying, intimate relationship with God. Study the Bible verse of Psalm 25:14 yourself, and seek a rich and rewarding Friendship with Christ. You’ll never be the same.
