Psalm 25:14 (NASB)
The secret of the Lord is for those who fear Him, And He will make them know His covenant.
Bible Commentary
Psalm 25:14 is a very intriguing Bible verse in which King David is talking about a very unique gift God gives to those who fear Him.
Let’s look first at what it means to fear God. The word “fear” in Hebrew means: fearing, reverent. The word “fear” in Webster’s dictionary means: anxiety caused by real or possible danger; awe, reverence.
The word “reverent” is defined as: feeling of deep respect, love and awe.
There are many places in the Bible where we are instructed to fear God. In fact, the first of the Ten Commandments states, “You shall have no other gods before me” (Exodus 20:3).

Deuteronomy 6:5 says, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.” This is also stated by Jesus in the New Testament as the greatest commandment (Mark 12:29).
The Bible emphasizes the importance of this command, because in keeping it there is great reward, but by disobeying it, there is a great cost.
