Luke 2:30 (NKJV)
For my eyes have seen Your salvation,
Bible Commentary
Luke 2:30 is a Bible Verse where Simeon, a devout and righteous man, saw the glory of the Lord’s salvation in the babe of Jesus Christ.
Simeon looked for the consolation of Israel (Luke 2:25). He longed for the salvation of his nation, and it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he saw the Messiah (Luke 2:26).
God had made him a promise, and he looked for the fulfillment of it. When he saw Joseph and Mary bring the child into the temple to dedicate him to the Lord, he knew it was the Lord’s Christ.
In Luke 2:30, Simeon said, “For my eyes have seen Your salvation.”
The baby was brought in by His parents, and left the temple with His parents. It seemed very routine. No grand or dramatic entrance, nothing extraordinary.
Your Promise Revealed
But Simeon knew it was beyond extraordinary. He knew he had seen the salvation of Israel with his own two eyes. It wasn’t a dramatic or unusual presentation. It was done like so many before it, and so many after it.
Very few recognized the miracle of the Baby Messiah in the temple that day.
What about your promise? Are you looking for it?
It might not show up in a grand or dramatic fashion. It might seem very routine, and maybe very few will know it. The question is, will you know it?
May we daily seek the revelation of the Lord. If He made us a promise, He gives us eyes to see it.
When it arrives, let’s take it all in and enjoy every miraculous moment of it.
Study the Bible verse of Luke 2:30, and let’s open our eyes to the revelation of the Lord’s salvation.
