Isaiah 12:1 (NASB) Then you will say on that day, “I will give thanks to You, O Lord; For although You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, And You comfort me.

…God’s anger is turned away. That day was when Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, died as a perfect sacrifice to pay our penalty for every sin.
Jesus bridged the way back to the Garden of Eden, God’s glory, and the intimate fellowship with Him that we lost when Adam and Eve sinned. Zechariah 9:12 says, “Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope; today I declare that I will restore to you double.”
Some Hebrew meanings of “comfort” are: sigh, breathe strongly, be sorry, pity, console.
God’s comfort is made available to us through Jesus Christ, Who came to restore that bright and pleasing countenance of the Father. Jesus is referred to as the “morning star” in Rev. 22:16.
Forgiveness
Restoration of God’s glory—the brightness of a pleasing countenance—is the gift He offers freely to us when we choose to accept and believe it.
Jesus removed God’s wrath when He gave His life and died on the cross. He became that curse. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
We can be happy, safe, peaceful and richly satisfied in the bright reflection of Christ. We don’t have to live under the curse anymore, the banishment from paradise. God invited us back through Jesus, the bright and morning star (Rev. 22:16).
