Deuteronomy 7:14 (NASB)

This verse isn’t just referring to a physical condition, but a spiritual one, a mental and emotional one as well—the condition of our souls.

Have you ever felt unproductive or bored? Maybe you’re retired from a job or you are in a role that makes you feel unproductive or unimportant.

That may be the way we feel, but the truth is that we are not barren in Jesus Christ. We must choose to stand fast in the truth and believe that we are fruitful and productive in Jesus, no matter how we feel.

The fruitfulness may not be visible to us, but that doesn’t mean it’s not there. God knows when and where He plans to use it and reveal it.

Our willingness is a key variable here. We begin to see the great things He is doing when we decide to submit to the process—accept His way, believing that He is doing something good in and through us.

And this is also key–we must be thankful while we wait for Him to show us the fruit.

We mustn’t be deceived by our emotions or our circumstances, though they can be very convincing. God is producing fruit in us while we wait on Him.

Read Deuteronomy 7:14 again, “You shall be blessed above all peoples; there will be no male or female barren among you or among your cattle.” We must participate in the receiving process by believing God and taking Him at His Word.
