Trouble and anguish have overtaken me, Yet Your commandments are my delights.
Daily Prayer
Heavenly Father, we ask You to help us lay down the anxiety and striving in our heart so that we can receive Your peace. Yours is a peace that surpasses all understanding. The thing we want does not provide peace. You do. The thing we want does not solve all. You already have.
May we stand still in faith and simply receive the gift that You suffered so much to give to us. It has already been done. It has already been won. Our victory is in You and You alone. Forgive us for following after other gods. Forgive us for falling into temptation and striving after things so that we can consume it upon our lusts.
Help us to lay our trophies at Your feet, at the cross where You died to save us. Thank You that Your salvation is ongoing and not just a one-time occurrence. Our souls are in continual need of saving as we walk through this world in our humanity. Thank You, Lord for being our Shepherd. There is no lack in You. (Psalm 23:1)
Blessed be Your Name! We love You and humble ourselves before You, for we know that You are our Father and You are well able to take care of everything. We leave it to You to do so. In Jesus’s Name we pray. Amen.
