Daily Prayer – James 4:10

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Prayer

Father, one of the hardest things we must learn to do is to pray for our enemies, when they have inflicted so much pain upon us or upon those we love. But we must remember, when we pray for them we are actually praying for ourselves. What we condemn our enemies for doing are the same things we do (Romans 2:1).

It is painful to recognize this truth and to get out of the seat of Judge and give it back to You where it belongs. We know You will do what is just and good. We trust you in this and we thank you in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
