If we’re too attached to our wealth, we might read this passage and cling even more tightly to our personal treasure—the tangible things we’ve worked hard to attain.
On the other hand, if we have submitted to Christ in sacrificial giving and made a practice of it, our hearts more closely resemble Christ’s, which attracts the attention of the Father.
When we experience a time of scarcity or loss in our lives, we tend to look up to the Father in prayer like never before. It is then we can experience a greater growth in our personal relationship with Him, because we’re looking for Him more intently than we ever have.
He delights in revealing unexpected surprises to the heart of one who is watching for Him. That’s how God is glorified in our life, One-on-one and one day at a time.
Money Bags in the Kingdom
He asks us to give up the normal way of doing things, to give up the expected, the way everybody else does it, and instead provide ourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys.
The money bags He refers to is the kingdom way, the way of God.
In our walk with Christ, He sometimes calls us to do things that don’t make sense—to us or anyone else. What He calls one to do with their money, may be completely different than what He calls you to do.
We use the Word of God as our guideline, and trust the Holy Spirit within us for the specifics. Growing in our trust of Jesus Christ is an adventure in so many ways.
Remember, it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom, which may be a in a way you never imagined. He delights in our prosperity because He is glorified in it (John 15:8).
Let’s prosper His way. It is so much better…and so much sweeter. Study the Bible verse of Luke 12:33, and get to know God the Father of your finances.
