struck us down, even when He hears our complaining and grumbling, when He observes our unrighteous acts and deeds, when He hears vulgar talk from our mouths or when we turn a deaf ear or blind eye to someone in need.

John 3:17, “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

Even though we deserve punishment and condemnation for our sin, God sent Jesus Christ that we might be saved.

Let’s look at what the children of Israel did when they recognized their sin.

Numbers 21:7-9 “So the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned, because we have spoken against the Lord and you; intercede with the Lord, that He may remove the serpents from us.” And Moses interceded for the people. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard; and it shall come about, that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, he will live.” And Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on the standard; and it came about, that if a serpent bit any man, when he looked to the bronze serpent, he lived.”

Just as the serpent was lifted up as a symbol of hope and forgiveness for a nation, so Jesus was lifted up on the cross as a universal symbol of God’s mercy, love and forgiveness.

God’s Master Plan

Knowing we would fall into sin, God created a Master Plan. By His great mercy and the willingness of His precious Son to suffer and die, we have the opportunity to be saved from God’s anger and condemnation. God’s desire is for the world to be saved through Jesus Christ, as John 3:17 says.

Be saved by believing in Jesus Christ as your Savior and inviting Him into your life as Lord. Accept the gift He freely offers and enter into a relationship with Him.

John 3:18 says, “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

There is freedom, peace and forgiveness in knowing Jesus Christ. He promises to be with us always (Matthew 28:20). No one can be a better friend, or a closer one.

Study the Bible verse of John 3:17, believe Jesus Christ was sent to save you from condemnation, and receive God’s mercy and forgiveness. You are greatly loved by the Father.
