Romans 8:32 (NKJV)
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
Bible Commentary
Romans 8:32 is a Bible verse that can answer all of our questions about God’s provision. The only question is: do we believe it?
In order to fully digest the truth of this verse, let’s look at another passage in order to get a better understanding of how important our faith is in receiving the fullness of God’s promises.
Psalm 46:4
There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High.
The word “river” in Hebrew means: stream (including the sea, especially the Nile, Euphrates, etc.); prosperity. A river or stream indicates a continual flow of water. It is no coincidence the word prosperity is included in the Hebrew definition. This would indicate a continual flow of wealth, of God’s provision.
The key to receiving the fullness of God’s promises of His coming kingdom is believing Him. Jesus said it many times. It is our faith that makes us well. We must ask ourselves, “What is blocking the prosperity of the river of God’s kingdom from flowing into my life?”
The #1 answer for many people is unbelief. Romans 4:19-21 speaks of Abraham when it says, “He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.”
Do Not Waver
When we waver, we are moving ourselves out of the river, or prosperity and flow, of the kingdom. Remember, the Bible tells us to “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” Galatians 5:1
We are to stand fast in the truth of God’s words.
Here is the crux of the whole matter, and I encourage you to meditate on this scripture to strengthen your heart in a time of uncertainty of God’s provision in your life:
Romans 8:32
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
God gave us His own Son. Will He not also provide the things you need? We must pull our thinking and remembrance back to this truth. If we are a child of God and have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior, we have access to the kingdom and all the riches in it.
We only have to stand strong in our faith (in the river of prosperity) and confidently receive. Let’s not anxiously hope for the best, not knowing for sure what God will do. We should stand confidently on the Word of God because He already proved His faithfulness by giving us the best He had, His only Son.
What a tremendous sacrifice to prove His love to us and His provision for us. Remember what He has already given, stand on His faithfulness with confidence and receive the power of His kingdom of prosperity in your life.
