Daily Prayer – Romans 8:38-39

Daily Prayer

Lord God, please help us not to be separated from Your Loving Presence by the fears and doubts in our hearts.  Our doubts point to a very real enemy who tries to convince us that You don’t love us. Our fears are born from the unbelief in our hearts and the weakness of our flesh. But the devil is a liar. We will no longer listen to his lies, but instead look up to Your Truth. You sent Your only Son, Jesus Christ, Who lived a sinless life and gave everything He had to give because of His faithfulness to You, the Father and His great love for us. The cross is proof of Your undying love. It is proof of Your passion for Your people, Your sons and daughters, Your people who You made in Your Own image.

Your Word says, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32) How can we not adore You, Lord. How can we not love You and submit to You when You gave everything for us, to set us free? Deliver us from ourselves, Lord, from our propensity to be drawn in and mesmerized by the darkness. For it is because of our own unwillingness to resist the devil that we get pulled under and trapped by it. May the darkness no longer have a hold on us. Remove the power of the darkness by the Light of Jesus Christ that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. (Proverbs 4:18) Use our vessels to shine the Light and Love of Jesus Christ to the world around us. Amen.

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Romans 8:38-39
